The Qualification
Successful candidates receive a Diploma in Homoeopathic Paediatrics and be able to use the letters DHP after their name. This indicates to parents that they have specialist training and knowledge of treating children.
The course runs on a self-assessment basis. Each student is expected to fill in a self-assessment form each month and complete 3 paper cases to be handed in the following month. The self-assessment forms enable the student to gauge their progress, and the teaching staff to assess where individual students may need help.
The students are also asked to complete two case studies relating to two of the ten different age groups covered in the course, with at least two follow-ups.
The course also offers tutorial sessions which will provide an opportunity for the student to talk through any aspects of the course that they may not feel comfortable with. Tutorials will be at a time and place convenient to both the teacher and student and provision is also made for this at the end of each teaching day. Tutorials are included in the cost of the course.
Any students requiring supervision for their own cases are charged at £25 per half hour, times to be arranged with relevant teachers.
The diploma is issued only when all the self-assessment criteria has been successfully completed.
